Where to Start

The High Museum of Art features over 17,000 works of art throughout three buildings, so you might wonder, “Where do I start?” After a short walk from Stonehurst Place, you’re greeted by incredible architecture that offers a taste of the wonders inside. Walk through the revolving doors, grab your tickets from High Museum of Art box office, and head down the hallway to the Robinson Atrium. Here, you can check your coats, use the bathrooms, and get acquainted with the museum map.

What You’ll See

From there, you’re welcome to enjoy a self-guided tour throughout the Stent Family Wing, the Wieland Pavilion, and the Anne Cox Chambers Wing. Each building is connected, offering an uninterrupted journey through their vast collections. A variety of pieces are sure to catch your eye, whether it’s a painting by Claude Monet, a sculpture from the Mali Empire, or a photograph from Evelyn Hofer. There are even examples of modern and contemporary art that will cause you to stop and gaze in awe. Just make sure you know the High Museum of Art’s hours, because time has a way of slipping by as you lose yourself in the displays!

Visitor Tips and Information

  • General Admission tickets for the High Museum of Art are $14.50 for adults.
  • Enjoy free admission on the second Sunday of each month.
  • Free tours are available from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
  • Feel free to purchase a souvenir from the gift shop on your way out.
  • Visit the Museum of Design Atlanta while you’re in the area. It’s just a short walk away!
