Discover Innovative Ideas and Projects at the Museum of Design Atlanta
Learn the Story of This Forward-Thinking Organization
In 1989, the Atlanta International Museum of Art & Design set up their home in Downtown Atlanta. Several years later, in 2011, they changed their name to the Museum of Design Atlanta and unveiled their new location in Midtown. Today, visitors can stop by and explore a rotating exhibition, listen to lectures, and enjoy hands-on workshops. In keeping with the world of design, the Museum fosters an environment of innovation via monthly dinners with faculty and industry experts. Together, they discuss trends and consider ideas on how to consistently position themselves as the go-to source for all things design.
Open Your Mind to New Ideas
The Museum of Design Atlanta features one rapidly rotating exhibition, offering fresh perspectives on everything from fashion to architecture. Your journey through the world of design can continue at our Midtown Atlanta bed and breakfast. Our story began when Barb Shadomy, owner of Stonehurst Place, discovered our 19th-century mansion during her studies at the Inchbald School of Design in London. Her expertise in architectural interior and garden design allowed her to upgrade the inn with modern amenities while preserving most of the original details. The result is an elegant atmosphere with stunning architecture, museum-quality artwork, and luxurious guest rooms.
We invite you to experience this unique destination for yourself! As soon as you step inside, you’ll realize our inn is in a different league from your typical bed and breakfast. Book your stay today and see what we mean!
