Wow, this was exceptional. Not sure I am going to say anything that hasn’t already been said, but here goes . . . I was looking for an alternative to the staid convention hotel, and found that this top-rated B&B in Atlanta had a room at a comparable price so decided to check it out. I was looking for a comfortable place with character, but honestly wasn’t expecting an experience this nice. Stonehurst is a historic house with sun rooms and porches for relaxing, artwork (there was a Picasso in my room, and a Picasso and Warhol right outside of my room!), very nice hosts, complimentary wine, soda, and snacks (nuts, and homemade cookies, biscotti, brownies), good wifi, quiet rooms, very comfortable bed, convenient to several restaurants and easy walk to the train, eco-friendly, an elegant, gourmet breakfast. After I checked out in the morning, they graciously allowed me to come back and “hang out” and relax while waiting to visit with a friend prior to leaving for the airport. The only minor issue had to do with my own klutziness – the ceilings in the Eaves room where I stayed were angled, so I ended up not paying attention and bumping my head a few times until I got accustomed the layout and pulled the desk/table away from the wall a bit. Overall a great experience – I wish I had stayed longer. There is no question that I will try to stay here again when visiting Atlanta.
