We traveled to downtown Atlanta to spend a weekend playing ‘tourist’ before attending a wedding at Stonehurst. The location was wonderfully convenient – only a few blocks from the Fox Theatre, Downtown restaurants and night life.
The location was surprisingly quiet for downtown. After check-in and a tour of the home, the Innkeeper provided us with complimentary wine and settled us on the screened porch to relax among the trees, flowers and water feature creating a calming and serene environment.
Artwork, stylish décor and attentive service were so unlike our previous B&B experiences — NO sense of staying in grandma’s house with hovering owners. The Stonehurst staff strikes a perfect balance between the comfort and coziness of a B&B with the luxury and services of a fine hotel: Wifi, concierge services to find downtown attractions and ticketing information, breakfast tailored to our preferences. The nice touches such as a carafe of water in the room, and the Innkeeper’s attentativness in switching the lovely china coffee cups for large stoneware mugs to accommodate our breakfast preferences made the experience delightful.
I would definitely stay again but would upgrade to a rooms with the large baths and showers. While ours was perfectly comfortable, I think the walk in two person shower could add an extra element of fun to the stay
